Singer Jessica Simpson is planning to get back to her Texan roots, says her father. She has bought a new cowboy hat and is planning to do a country record.
People.com quoted her father Joe, who is also her manager, as saying: 'Everything in our business is about beats and I think she really wants to sing, and country music still believes in that.'
The singer-actress has just wrapped up shooting for the movie 'Major Movie Star' and wants to get back to music.
Her father added: 'She's a singer from top to bottom. And everything in the music business, especially pop music, has moved away from singers. And I think country is the only pure, storytelling kind of genre left.'
When asked if she would be accepted by country fans he replied, 'She's from Texas. How could she not?'
