Keira Knightley warns: 'I'm moody'

She's often plays a demure English rose onscreen, but in real life Keira Knightley has admitted she spends a lot of her time being very cranky indeed.

The 22-year-old issued a warning to all: "I'm a moody bastard."

As if to reinforce the point, Keira spent much of her interview with Elle magazine bemoaning her treatment by the press, mobile phones and even the word "cute".

She said: "I've been banned from reading newspapers because the way they're written angers me so much.

"If I want an opinion, I'll read the opinion part of the newspaper.

"I do not want it when I'm trying to get the facts. I get incredibly angry. It really f---s me off. See, I have to calm down about it."

The Atonement star then moved her fury on to mobile phones, saying: "I hate them. It rings, and then I realize that I don't want to talk to anyone. So I always press ignore."

Even the English language got a battering.

She said: "I hate cute, I've always hated cutesy."

"My mum used to ban the word cute. Absolutely banned."

Keira, who has recently been filming an 18th century drama called The Duchess alongside Ralph Finnes, continued to work herself into a lather after she was asked about her sexual powers.

She said: "Oh, my god. I don't think I'm aware of it now! No... I'm lying. I don't know why I said that.

"No, I'm not lying, actually. I'll just have an argument with myself!"

Perhaps Keira just needs a little lie down.

Shock new couple: Owen Wilson & Jessica Simpson

Owen Wilson is reportedly dating Jessica Simpson.

The Wedding Crashers actor has been on a string of dates with the blonde beauty since the pair worked on a Willie Nelson music video last month.

They were first seen at Santa Monica's Huntley Hotel and were recently spotted enjoying a meal at New York's Waverly Inn, before heading for drinks at the exclusive Rose Bar.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "Jessica was touching Owen's arm and flipping her hair. Owen was charming, making Jessica laugh. It looked very much like they were on a date."

Owen's friends say the relationship is not yet serious or exclusive.

One friend said: "Owen finds Jessica hilarious, but he's talking to lots of girls."

Owen - who was rushed to hospital in August following a failed suicide bid - has been single since splitting from Kate Hudson earlier this year.

However, it was recently reported Kate was keen to rekindle her romance with the actor.

Jessica was previously married to singer Nick Lachey. The pair famously starred in their own MTV reality show Newlyweds, which documented their lives together.

The pair officially divorced in 2006, and Jessica has since been linked to US musician John Mayer and comedian Dane Cook.

Jessica Alba - 'I Want To Be Tough, Not Beautiful'

Hollywood beauty JESSICA ALBA is desperate to shed her sexy image, because she'd rather be known for her tough-girl attitude. The 26-year-old actress admits she would prefer to win a man's heart with her fists than her looks - because her beauty 'isn't important'. She says "I'd rather slay a guy with my fists than knock him out with the way I look. I know people like what they see and I'm totally happy to dress up and look sexy but I just see it as playing a part. "Underneath I'd prefer to be known for something else, like being tough or being smart. It makes me feel more confident to know I can hold my own in a fight than it does to look in the mirror and think I look beautiful."

The Texas-born beauty is in the dating world again since her relationship with John Mayer ended in May. Now she’s ready to open up about her feelings on the new album she’s about to record.

“I can’t wait to share my heart with the world,” Jessica told “Extra” backstage at Macy’s in New York, where she launched her latest fashion line. “The fun, the good, the bad, the happy, the sad. You know, I’m comfortable letting people in now. I’m in a really good place.”

Jessica’s good times continue with another hosting appearance on “The View” on Nov. 15. She revealed that the first time she hosted the show, she was left speechless.

“I had to interview Angelina Jolie and I was just really, really starstruck,” she confessed. “I was just in awe of her beauty.”

Jessica also just wrapped shooting “Major Movie Star,” in which the blonde bombshell enlists in the Army. To prepare for the role, Jessica, 25, actually went through boot camp.

“I really found out a lot about myself and gained a lot of confidence,” Jessica said. “It’s really humbling.”

Keira Knightley Banned From Reading Papers

Atonement star Keira Knightley has revealed her family and friends refuse to let her read newspapers for fear she'll lose her temper.

The actress - voted the sexiest film star of all time by Empire magazine in 2005 - explained she's likely to fly off the handle if she glances over the tabloids, especially when she reads about herself and the regular speculation regarding her weight.

"I'm a moody bastard," she told Elle magazine. "Actually, I've been banned from reading newspapers because the way they're written angers me so much. If I want an opinion, I'll read the opinion part of the newspaper. I do not want it when I'm trying to get the facts.

"I get incredibly angry. It really f**ks me off. See, I have to calm down about it."

However the 22-year-old decided not to take a deep breath, adding: "What I hate is that they shove in your face - this is what you want to be. And you think, 'F**k that. I don't want it. Stop telling me I want to look like her. Stop telling me I want that life.' I don't."

Knightley is currently filming period drama The Duchess, opposite Ralph Fiennes and Charlotte Rampling.

Jessica Alba: My vagina is off limits unless necessary

Hollywood sex godess, Jessica Alba has vowed never to go nude for a movie - unless the film makers absolutely require her to flash the flesh - due to her extreme Catholic upbringing, which forbids her from revealing her naked body.

The actress - who paled a sexy scantily clad pole dancer in Sin City, a sexy scantily clad dancer in Honey and a sexy scantily clad ass kicker in TV show Dark Angel - believes that her religious views on nudity is extremely important.

"My vagina is off limits.I won't do a nude scene in a movie - unless it is absolutely necessary to the plot. For instance, if I was playing a steelworker I would have no qualms going topless - c'mon, wearing a shirt in them temperatures would be stoopid. Or if I were playing the part of an exotic nymphomaniac lapdancing teacher on an island of Amazonian women I could hardly disagree with the artistic need for subtle nudity or the possible use of my vagina, could I?."

"I can act sexy and I can wear sexy clothes such as see-thru thongs and crotchless panties but I can't go naked unless it's with purpose. I think I was always very uncomfortable about the way my body developed", said Alba, as journalists drooled nearby.

"Just look at by breasts. That's it, look real close at them", directed Alba as she laid back beneath a flowing waterfall and let the foamy waves pass over her curvacious bosom, " they may look perfect to the untrained eye but in actual fact the left boob is .022mm higher than the right. A priest friend measured them for me".

"I come from a Catholic family and it wasn't seen as good to flaunt yourself unless it is for a religious man. I regularly have a group of Bishops over at my movie sets to check me out".

Alba's next movie project may be a hardcore remake of the Raquel Welch classic 'One million years BC' which she says her Bishop friends are reading over the script to check if it's appropriate.

Jessica's penguin best friends

Jessica Alba has won some new fans with her latest film Good Luck Chuck - her penguin co-stars.

The Hollywood beauty plays a penguin handler in the comedy, and says she and the trained birds she shared her screen time with bonded instantly.

"They don't like everybody but they liked me right away," she says.

"You can tickle them on their neck and they would lay down and kind of purr when I did that. They're so adorable."

The film is a change of pace for Jessica, who is known for her roles in darker films such as Sin City and The Eye.

She admits: "I haven't really done any comedies before, people just didn't think that was my thing."

But Jess said she was drawn to Good Luck Chuck because the characters feel realistic.

"I'm not a huge fan of romantic comedies that have come out in the past five years because I feel a lot of them were too soft and didn't seem real. In this one they're crazy, they're eccentric, but at least they're real," she said.

Good Luck Chuck is released on Friday November 9.

Jessica Alba vows 'never' to strip on-screen

Actress Jessica Alba has vowed that she would 'never' strip naked for a film - because her Catholic background does not allow her to do so.

The 26-year-old actress revealed that she wouldn't think twice before turning down a role that requires her to go nude, as she believes it is important to abide by her strict religious beliefs.

"I will never do a nude scene in a movie - not ever. I can act sexy and I can wear sexy clothes but I can't go naked. I think I was always very uncomfortable about the way my body developed," Contactmusic quoted Alba, as saying.

"I come from a Catholic family and it wasn't seen as good to flaunt yourself. I can handle being sexy with clothes on but not with them off," she added.

Owen Wilson ‘can’t keep his hands off’ Jessica Simpson

According to a source, the pair got “cozy” over dinner before heading to Wilson’s home. “He couldn’t keep his hands off her. They looked cozy like it was a first date. They both looked kind of nervous. And they were obsessed with not being recognized or photographed. Hotel security was on high alert and they both had escorts when they left.”

Wilson has slowly started to return to his celebrity life after his suicide attempt in August. The actor was believed to be devastated over his split from Kate Hudson at the time he tried to take his own life. He was most recently linked to ex-girlfriend Carolina Cerisola.

Gyllenhaal in bed with Biel for "Nailed"

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel are attached to star in "Nailed," a risque political satire co-written by a daughter of Al Gore.

David O. Russell ("Three Kings") is attached to direct from a screenplay co-written with Kristin Gore, a published novelist and former writer on "Futurama."

Biel would play Sammy Joyce, a socially awkward small-town receptionist who has a nail accidentally shot into her head by a clumsy workman, eliciting wild sexual urges.

The uninsured Joyce goes on a crusade to Washington to fight for the rights of the bizarrely injured. She meets an immoral congressman (Gyllenhaal) who takes advantage of her sex drive and capitalizes on her crusade as Joyce heads into her own career in politics.

Principal photography is set to start in January.

Neither star has a signed contract for the film. Their commitment could depend on juggling other features.

Russell is no stranger to politics. He started as an 1980s political activist before directing the prescient Gulf War drama "Three Kings."

Jessica Simpson to play Sandy in 'Grease' remake?

Michelle Pfeiffer has revealed that Jessica Simpson is being considered by producers to play Sandy in a remake of classic movie Grease.

The singer would play the role of the nice girl who is transformed into a vixen, which was made famous by Olivia Newton-John in the original 1978 film, if she goes ahead and signs the contract.

Meanwhile, Pfeiffer herself has been approached to feature in the remake as the Rydell High school principal, originally portrayed by Eve Arden.

Pfeiffer revealed: "It's a great idea and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy. She would be good.

"I would love to play the school principal. She is fun and has some great put-down lines. I think I would like the part now that I have been asked."

Jessica Alba's Love Rival Comes Forward

Jessica Alba's on/off boyfriend Cash Warren has threatened to sue The National Enquirer over a scandalous expose that claims he cheated on the sexy actress with a Russian model.

Just weeks after Warren and Alba reconciled following a summer split, their shaky romance has been hit with a bombshell.

Pretty blonde Vera Mishina tells the publication she spent a night partying with Warren in New York, and then a morning making love to the producer--only to discover she was just "a one-night stand" and her lover was already back with his famous ex.

The 20-year-old Russian passed a "rigorous" lie detector test before the Enquirer ran with her saucy expose, but that hasn't stopped Warren from threatening to sue.

After Mishina gave the publication his cell phone number and a reporter called him to ask for a response to the model's allegations, Warren fumed, "I advise you not to print that if you don't wanna get sued. No comment."

But The National Enquirer went ahead with Mishina's story.

The model reveals, "On the night he picked me up and got me into his bed, he was acting like the world's biggest single man.

"But I found out that only hours after being with me, he was on a plane back to L.A., where he was then photographed having dinner with her (Alba) and acting affectionate."

The spurned model adds, "If he had told me they had gotten back together there's no way I would have allowed him to sleep with me. I now feel like all he wanted was a one-night stand. I feel used.

"Cash wasn't very honest to lead me along like he did. Jessica may want to rethink taking him back. He cheated on her the minute he was away from her."

Warren has hired a lawyer and denies the story.

Simpson wants to get back to her roots

Singer Jessica Simpson is planning to get back to her Texan roots, says her father. She has bought a new cowboy hat and is planning to do a country record.

People.com quoted her father Joe, who is also her manager, as saying: 'Everything in our business is about beats and I think she really wants to sing, and country music still believes in that.'

The singer-actress has just wrapped up shooting for the movie 'Major Movie Star' and wants to get back to music.

Her father added: 'She's a singer from top to bottom. And everything in the music business, especially pop music, has moved away from singers. And I think country is the only pure, storytelling kind of genre left.'

When asked if she would be accepted by country fans he replied, 'She's from Texas. How could she not?'

Keira Knightley embraces mature roles

The last time we saw Keira Knightley, if you live in a city with the latest billboards, she was naked, covering her breasts with a bowler hat and promoting Coco Mademoiselle perfume. Today, she's curled up demurely on the couch of a Toronto hotel room talking about the perils of celebrity and the rewards of acting.

"At the moment it's all good because the work's good," says the 22-year-old actress, an ethereal beauty whose famous blonde slimness has excited the world of celebrity magazines with (hotly denied) rumours of eating disorders. "My job is to act. My job is to provide as entertaining fictions as I can do. My job is to find reality in stories. And sometimes I'm going to be good and sometimes I'm going to be bad. And when I'm bad, that's not good."

When she's good, on the other hand, she's terrific: nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Elizabeth Bennet in Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice, and exciting more Oscar talk for her turn as another romantic leading lady, this time in Wright's Atonement, based on Ian McEwan's best-seller about love and tragedy in the years of the Second World War.

And while Knightley cannot completely get past the celebrity side of her life - "when you've got people in your personal space 24/7 it's pretty hard to ignore," she says - she says she's passionate about acting and right now, the good outweighs the bad.

In Atonement, which is a special presentation at the Toronto film festival, she plays Cecilia, a spoiled rich girl on an English estate in 1935 who eventually gives in to the love of a poor boy, the housekeeper's son (played by James McAvoy), only to see their affair torn apart by the war. There's a modern twist as well: McEwan has provided a meta-fictional structure in which Atonement becomes a story about stories, but Knightley says it was the old-fashioned aspects of the book that attracted her.

"As far as '40s filmmaking in Hollywood goes, if you're talking about romantic comedy, that was the peak and the best of the romantic comedies because they weren't sentimental. They were witty. And I personally enjoy that a lot more than the incredibly indulgent sentimentality we go for today. I love the wit. I love the characters in The Philadelphia Story or His Girl Friday.

"As far as British film goes, I'm fascinated by David Lean and Noel Coward. Brief Encounter has been a huge favourite of mine for a long time. When Joe Wright told me he wanted to go back to that 1940 style of acting, that '40s English accent which in my generation has disappeared, that really excited me."

Knightley demonstrates the accent she means: a clipped, nasal way of speaking that helps define Cecilia as one of those women who could barely open her mouth because of the stiffness of her upper lip.

The accent helped her create the character: "I looked at her as a pressure cooker. She's just waiting to explode. She is directionless, and I think that sort of machine-gun pattern of speech helps make it not completely comfortable."

The film, like the book, is designed to keep audiences slightly on edge.

Part of that comes in the fact that Atonement is a fiction within a fiction. Knightley says that although the performers couldn't play that irony - they had to do their parts straight to make it believable - it is in a way what she does every day as a performer. "You're dealing with different people, and they're not realities, but you have to make them real. Which is what this book, in kind of a funny way, deals with. What is fiction and what is fact."

That's especially true of another Knightley movie at the Toronto festival, Silk, a romance set in the 1880s in which she plays Helene, the wife of a businessman (Michael Pitt) who is having an affair with a woman in Japan.

"I wanted to play two very mature roles," she says of Silk and Atonement, which she filmed back-to-back. "It was my break from Pirates of the Caribbean," the trilogy of Johnny Depp adventures that have made her one of the hottest stars in movies and most sought-after interviews at the Toronto festival.

Knightley says she took on the Silk character because it was different. Usually, she tends toward what she calls "Joan of Arc" roles. "I like strident strong women, and I think I was very aware that I was doing a lot of very strong women, and perhaps I should try something else."

She was fascinated by the fact that Helene was selfless, giving her husband whatever he needed despite the fact that she knew he was having an affair.

"It's someone I'm not like at all. I can't understand that kind of selflessness. I find that completely fascinating. And then doing that right next to Cecilia, who is this very brittle kind of selfish character, was really interesting as well."

Knightley won't say she's closer to Cecilia, but she does say that the Atonement heroine is a woman who is easy for audiences to understand. "We're all (awful) on days. It doesn't matter whether you're nice people or good people. It doesn't mean you can't have days when you're just being a bitch to absolutely everybody. And you can even know you're being horrendous but you can't stop yourself. So I think that with Cecilia, it was easier to understand where she's coming from than someone who was that completely selfless."

Jessica Alba loves to down bottles of whisky

Actress Jessica Alba has revealed to a secret vice - she is fond of downing bottles of whisky.

The Hollywood beauty criticizes people who collect bottles of distilled liquor for she considers it to be a waste of alcohol.

Instead, she would rather drink it.

"I drink it with friends and my father. What's the point of collecting it when you are not going to enjoy it," Contactmusic quoted Alba, as saying.

"It is such a short life that you might as well enjoy it," she added.

The actress, who won the female hottie award at the Teen Choice Awards, once asserted that she has one healthy habit of drinking a lot of water. The 26-year-old actress is best known for her roles in Dark Angel, Sin City, Fantastic Four, Into the Blue and Idle Hands.

wice now Jessica Simpson has been in Northwest Louisiana filming two different movies. The first movie, 'Blonde Ambition', was filmed in January.
