Keira Knightley warns: 'I'm moody'
She's often plays a demure English rose onscreen, but in real life Keira Knightley has admitted she spends a lot of her time being very cranky indeed.
The 22-year-old issued a warning to all: "I'm a moody bastard."
As if to reinforce the point, Keira spent much of her interview with Elle magazine bemoaning her treatment by the press, mobile phones and even the word "cute".
She said: "I've been banned from reading newspapers because the way they're written angers me so much.
"If I want an opinion, I'll read the opinion part of the newspaper.
"I do not want it when I'm trying to get the facts. I get incredibly angry. It really f---s me off. See, I have to calm down about it."
The Atonement star then moved her fury on to mobile phones, saying: "I hate them. It rings, and then I realize that I don't want to talk to anyone. So I always press ignore."
Even the English language got a battering.
She said: "I hate cute, I've always hated cutesy."
"My mum used to ban the word cute. Absolutely banned."
Keira, who has recently been filming an 18th century drama called The Duchess alongside Ralph Finnes, continued to work herself into a lather after she was asked about her sexual powers.
She said: "Oh, my god. I don't think I'm aware of it now! No... I'm lying. I don't know why I said that.
"No, I'm not lying, actually. I'll just have an argument with myself!"
Perhaps Keira just needs a little lie down.
Shock new couple: Owen Wilson & Jessica Simpson
Owen Wilson is reportedly dating Jessica Simpson.
The Wedding Crashers actor has been on a string of dates with the blonde beauty since the pair worked on a Willie Nelson music video last month.
They were first seen at Santa Monica's Huntley Hotel and were recently spotted enjoying a meal at New York's Waverly Inn, before heading for drinks at the exclusive Rose Bar.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "Jessica was touching Owen's arm and flipping her hair. Owen was charming, making Jessica laugh. It looked very much like they were on a date."
Owen's friends say the relationship is not yet serious or exclusive.
One friend said: "Owen finds Jessica hilarious, but he's talking to lots of girls."
Owen - who was rushed to hospital in August following a failed suicide bid - has been single since splitting from Kate Hudson earlier this year.
However, it was recently reported Kate was keen to rekindle her romance with the actor.
Jessica was previously married to singer Nick Lachey. The pair famously starred in their own MTV reality show Newlyweds, which documented their lives together.
The pair officially divorced in 2006, and Jessica has since been linked to US musician John Mayer and comedian Dane Cook.
Jessica Alba - 'I Want To Be Tough, Not Beautiful'
Hollywood beauty JESSICA ALBA is desperate to shed her sexy image, because she'd rather be known for her tough-girl attitude. The 26-year-old actress admits she would prefer to win a man's heart with her fists than her looks - because her beauty 'isn't important'. She says "I'd rather slay a guy with my fists than knock him out with the way I look. I know people like what they see and I'm totally happy to dress up and look sexy but I just see it as playing a part. "Underneath I'd prefer to be known for something else, like being tough or being smart. It makes me feel more confident to know I can hold my own in a fight than it does to look in the mirror and think I look beautiful."
Jessica Simpson: ‘I’m In a Really Good Place’
Jessica Simpson has had her share of heartbreak. Now the single stunner is telling “Extra” that she’s ready for love – and she has a good idea of where to find it!
“I think Boston has cute boys,” Jessica revealed to “Extra.” “I need a Boston man. A Boston man is closest to a Southern man, I believe.”
The Texas-born beauty is in the dating world again since her relationship with John Mayer ended in May. Now she’s ready to open up about her feelings on the new album she’s about to record.
“I can’t wait to share my heart with the world,” Jessica told “Extra” backstage at Macy’s in New York, where she launched her latest fashion line. “The fun, the good, the bad, the happy, the sad. You know, I’m comfortable letting people in now. I’m in a really good place.”
Jessica’s good times continue with another hosting appearance on “The View” on Nov. 15. She revealed that the first time she hosted the show, she was left speechless.
“I had to interview Angelina Jolie and I was just really, really starstruck,” she confessed. “I was just in awe of her beauty.”
Jessica also just wrapped shooting “Major Movie Star,” in which the blonde bombshell enlists in the Army. To prepare for the role, Jessica, 25, actually went through boot camp.
“I really found out a lot about myself and gained a lot of confidence,” Jessica said. “It’s really humbling.”
Keira Knightley Banned From Reading Papers
Atonement star Keira Knightley has revealed her family and friends refuse to let her read newspapers for fear she'll lose her temper.
The actress - voted the sexiest film star of all time by Empire magazine in 2005 - explained she's likely to fly off the handle if she glances over the tabloids, especially when she reads about herself and the regular speculation regarding her weight.
"I'm a moody bastard," she told Elle magazine. "Actually, I've been banned from reading newspapers because the way they're written angers me so much. If I want an opinion, I'll read the opinion part of the newspaper. I do not want it when I'm trying to get the facts.
"I get incredibly angry. It really f**ks me off. See, I have to calm down about it."
However the 22-year-old decided not to take a deep breath, adding: "What I hate is that they shove in your face - this is what you want to be. And you think, 'F**k that. I don't want it. Stop telling me I want to look like her. Stop telling me I want that life.' I don't."
Knightley is currently filming period drama The Duchess, opposite Ralph Fiennes and Charlotte Rampling.

Jessica Alba: My vagina is off limits unless necessary
Hollywood sex godess, Jessica Alba has vowed never to go nude for a movie - unless the film makers absolutely require her to flash the flesh - due to her extreme Catholic upbringing, which forbids her from revealing her naked body.
The actress - who paled a sexy scantily clad pole dancer in Sin City, a sexy scantily clad dancer in Honey and a sexy scantily clad ass kicker in TV show Dark Angel - believes that her religious views on nudity is extremely important.
"My vagina is off limits.I won't do a nude scene in a movie - unless it is absolutely necessary to the plot. For instance, if I was playing a steelworker I would have no qualms going topless - c'mon, wearing a shirt in them temperatures would be stoopid. Or if I were playing the part of an exotic nymphomaniac lapdancing teacher on an island of Amazonian women I could hardly disagree with the artistic need for subtle nudity or the possible use of my vagina, could I?."
"I can act sexy and I can wear sexy clothes such as see-thru thongs and crotchless panties but I can't go naked unless it's with purpose. I think I was always very uncomfortable about the way my body developed", said Alba, as journalists drooled nearby.
"Just look at by breasts. That's it, look real close at them", directed Alba as she laid back beneath a flowing waterfall and let the foamy waves pass over her curvacious bosom, " they may look perfect to the untrained eye but in actual fact the left boob is .022mm higher than the right. A priest friend measured them for me".
"I come from a Catholic family and it wasn't seen as good to flaunt yourself unless it is for a religious man. I regularly have a group of Bishops over at my movie sets to check me out".
Alba's next movie project may be a hardcore remake of the Raquel Welch classic 'One million years BC' which she says her Bishop friends are reading over the script to check if it's appropriate.
Jessica's penguin best friends
Jessica Alba has won some new fans with her latest film Good Luck Chuck - her penguin co-stars.
The Hollywood beauty plays a penguin handler in the comedy, and says she and the trained birds she shared her screen time with bonded instantly.
"They don't like everybody but they liked me right away," she says.
"You can tickle them on their neck and they would lay down and kind of purr when I did that. They're so adorable."
The film is a change of pace for Jessica, who is known for her roles in darker films such as Sin City and The Eye.
She admits: "I haven't really done any comedies before, people just didn't think that was my thing."
But Jess said she was drawn to Good Luck Chuck because the characters feel realistic.
"I'm not a huge fan of romantic comedies that have come out in the past five years because I feel a lot of them were too soft and didn't seem real. In this one they're crazy, they're eccentric, but at least they're real," she said.
Good Luck Chuck is released on Friday November 9.
